Transferring of Assets Between Own  Characters

Transferring of Assets to Other Characters â€‹â€‹

  • You are allowed to transfer assets between your self and other players, its one of the most important factors of Lyrical RP after all! Lyrical RP is built around trading and plundering assets from other characters.

  • However, some exceptions are made to this rule. This is when it comes down to common sense. For example players may not gift away there assets to other players if they are taking a break or leaving the community.

Real World Trading

  • Players are not allowed to transfer the game's assets when outside of the server. For example, you may not pay someone real money for them to give you some asset in game, say a car.

  • Another example of Real World Trading is transferring starter money from one character to another.

  • Finally, all Lyrical RP trades and transfers must happen inside the server, not outside.

5) Cheating & Exploiting

Cheating/Hacking

  • Players are not allowed to use/have equipped any modifications, trainers, or any type of software that acts as a 3rd party modification that gives a player an advantage. For example, aimbot is not allowed.

  • Players are allowed to use visual game modifications that do not give an advantage. For example, NVE  and Reshade are allowed while no night visual packs are not allowed.

Exploiting

  • If a player discovers a bug they must report it.

  • Players are not allowed to exploit bugs. For example, if a player discovered/becomes aware of a bug that gives away free money they must report it and they cannot use the bug in order to obtain financial gains.

  • If a player witnesses/is aware of another player exploring a bug or an unattended game mechanic they must report it.

6) Communication

In-Character Communication

  • Lyrical RP is an English-speaking server, therefore members are required to speak comprehensible English.

  • Players are allowed to speak any language in game but they must be able to comprehend and respond to English.

  • While players are allowed to use voice changers they must not be disruptive towards the server and community.

  • Excessive cursing at others in a non-roleplay is prohibited.

  • All IC communication must be in-character and within roleplay.

Out-of-Character Communication

  • The OOC/Out-of-Character chat is only to be used when players need to communicate in an out-of-character matter.

  • Any form of OOC toxicity is strictly forbidden. For example, if you believe a player broke a rule you may not use the OOC chat to tell the other player you are reporting them.

  • Any OOC racism or strong offensive comments are not allowed.

General Communication Rules

  • Refusal to communicate with others in English is forbidden.

  • Advertising in voice chat, OOC chat, within commands, or in the Lyrical RP Discord is strictly forbidden. However, In-Character advertising is allowed.

  • You may not refer to your other characters.

Commands

  • Commands should only be used the attended way.

  • Rules regarding /me and /do commands can be found in the Powergaming Rule.

7) Disrupting Server Operations

Disrupting Server Operations

  • Disrupting Server Operations is a broad term used for several rules that affect the general operation of the community, its staff, and players.

  • Players are expected to always strive to be positive community members who remain respectful to everyone at all times. With positivity, we mean that players should strive to adhere to rules, strive to become better roleplayers, strive to help others, and not maliciously go out of their way to ruin somebody's experience in the community, whether it's a staff member or player.

  • Lyrical RP does not condone any form of Out of Character intimidation to keep players from playing on our server through e.g., OOC harassment or through other means with the focus of making one's experience poor.

Failure to Report Rule breaks

  • Players are expected to report severe rule breaks that they witness and/or have information of, failing to do so may make them complicit in the rule breaks.

  • Lyrical RP is not out to ruin friendships; however, players have a choice on what they involve themselves in and a choice of what information they withhold, but that choice may also have consequences.

Circumventing Bans (Ban Evading)

  • Bans from community areas such as discord, game, and forums, should not be circumvented in any way. Players are expected to submit ban appeals if they have an active ban that they wish to appeal.

Server Advertising

  • Players are not allowed to advertise other roleplay communities/servers on any of Lyrical RP's platforms, this also includes discussing them as that could be considered indirectly advertising.

8) Ruleplaying

Ruleplaying is a term used when players are using, manipulating, or interpreting rules or rulings falsely or outside of their intention, in an unrealistic or unintended way that does not constitute quality or realistic RP standards.

Some examples of ruleplaying:

  •  In a criminal chase, driving at slow speeds knowing that your pursuers are unable to attack you because they can't deliver demands.

  • Walking into a hostile situation with your hands up, knowing your backup is hiding, in order to bait deathmatching rights.

  • Taunting e.g., an enemy at a public place (e.g. fishing pier) knowing that they can't retaliate at said public location, effectively showing no fear for your safety.

Each situation will be reviewed and dealt with as case by case basis by staff, the examples above are not precise and there could be realistic context to someone's actions.

9) Metagaming

Metagaming is the act of relaying In-Character (IC) information through any method not considered IC which has the potential to change the current or future roleplay scenarios, or for the potential for the information to be used.

It's also considered metagaming to mix IC and Out-of-Character (OOC) information.

Examples of MG:

  • Communicating In-Character events, actions, and decisions, with another player on a 3rd party software e.g. discord. For example: "Let's rob this player", "I'm being robbed at City Parking, help me".

Players may sit in voice chat and communicate with one another whilst playing the game, however, they need to be careful of unintentional/passive metagaming as that can be acted on either unintentionally or intentionally. For example, telling your friend "Hold on, I'm being robbed right now" could cause them to act on that and start looking for you In-Character.

Players may not have any interaction or knowledge from their alternate characters. They should not refer to their alternate characters as their "cousin", "sibling" etc. In general, players should avoid speaking of their characters unless they are inserted into roleplay where someone is.

Players should not intentionally base their actions and/or words based on how another player sounds, as their voice may not reflect their character. For example, a male character with a female voice does not automatically mean they are a trans man or vice versa.

10) Non-Roleplay/Non-RP

Non-Roleplay

Non-Roleplay behavior is considered as actions that are unrealistic or promote poor quality roleplay. It's difficult to interpret or understand what good roleplay can be sometimes, and we aim to steer players in the direction we want them to go through our server rules. Players are welcome to speak to staff for guidance in regard to roleplay. Some examples (not exhaustive) of Non-RP:

  • Ignoring Roleplay such as

  • Doing wheelies on motorcycles in chases or in other situations where the speed grants an advantage over others. (The speed boost from doing wheelies in GTA 5 is unrealistic thus it's not allowed in situations where the speed is an advantage over others). Leaning forward is fine.

  • Baiting Government Services without proper IC motive. (For example, bank robbers have IC motive to bait police if they want to get their attention away from the bank they are wanting to rob).

  • Not roleplaying the effects of being tazed more than once unless there are RP factors involved.

  • Asking to be killed or forcing your own death. (Players are not allowed to force their death, they only die when they bleed out by the script).

  • Unrealistic Stunt Jumping

  • Misusing Expensive Vehicles

  • Using Script Work Vehicles for other purposes than the intended job.

  • Submerging any vehicle in water intentionally.

  • Swimming for an unrealistic amount of time in a chase. Always have a goal when you swim in a chase, don't just swim out to the ocean.

  • Stealing from / tampering with an OOC F4 Menu.

  • Using a vehicle to block one-way entry/exits of e.g., banks and stores.

  • Government-funded faction members must go off duty when not performing faction duties IC.

  • Putting on and/or replenishing armor when your character is in immediate danger (e.g. being shot at).

  • Climbing steep hills and/or mountains in non-appropriate vehicles, mechanics and LSEMS vehicles are exempt. Appropriate vehicles are for example; Kamacho, Contender, Caracara, Scout, Brawler, BF-400,, Non-Appropriate Vehicles are for example; Novak, Rebla, Shinobi, Hakuchou, Warrener, Exemplar, Elegy, Drafter.

  • Breaching the building rules intentionally.

In roleplay scenarios, players are required to remain In-Character all times. Roleplay can only be paused or voided by admin staff. This means that if for example, a player feels that another player has broken a server rule, they should not stop roleplaying and argue in an OOC chat, instead, they should submit a report, document the situation, and continue to roleplay.

Disconnecting/Crashing from Active Roleplay Scenarios - Combat Logging

When a game crash/disconnect occurs, players must make an effort to contact the involved players or staff. Most commonly, this is done on Lyrical RP's official discord server, in the #crash-reports channel. If players do not have access to discord, they should try to contact the staff through the forums, or the players involved if they know them. Players who crash from a police situation such as a chase will be charged and put in prison by admin staff.

When a player returns from a game crash/disconnect, all players involved must be given the same opportunities they held prior.

Players should not instigate situations they do not have time to play through. If a player is chased, they must wait 15 minutes before they can log out of the game. This does not apply if the player chasing is aware of the location of the chased player, thus it may be in the best interest of the player to submit an in-game report to get staff confirmation on whether they can log out or not.

11) Powergaming

Powergaming is defined as inserting unrealistic actions into a character's actions that would otherwise not be possible in real life, providing non-factual statements in /do, or not allowing other players a chance to roleplay responses and their own actions to your roleplay. Some examples of powergaming:

  • If you want to break a person's leg, you should not go up to the player and type /me breaks Player_Name's leg, and then expect them to roleplay a broken leg, that is forced roleplay and stops them from reacting to it.

  • Roleplaying superhuman strength or abilities, by performing unrealistic actions such as breaking cuffs with raw strength.

  • Roleplaying camera footage from a camera that does not exist either as an object or through roleplay.

Players should also not type several character actions into a single /me when it's aimed at another player, as that stops the player from roleplaying a proper response. For example, you should not roleplay instantaneously withdrawing an object and then using the object to hold the player hostage, as their chances of reacting to the initial withdrawal are eliminated.

Players may use forceful commands such as /frisk, /cuff, /drag, /cpr, /stabilize after RP, or if the party is unresponsive for 30 seconds.

12) Death Rule

When a player's character dies the character can no longer be played on as Lyrical RP is a hardcore roleplay server. However, there are some exceptions to deaths that would lead to staff restoring a character's life - making the character accessible to the player again with all memories and IC knowledge.

If a character dies the IC knowledge that the character holds may not be transferred to other characters owned by the same player.

For example, if a player had two characters, one police, and one criminal, If the police character died the player cannot use the knowledge the police character holds with his criminal character. This includes knowledge such as plant spots, warehouse and garage codes, and more.

13) Fear Roleplay

Fear Roleplay is the concept of showing appropriate care and concern to preserve your character's safety and life. We aim for balanced gameplay through this rule, and it may not be representative of real life at times.

Players whose life is in direct danger must RP adequate fear and comply with demands given to them. Direct danger could mean, for example, a gun aimed at your head or at you from close vicinity, by any player.

If an attacker lowers their weapon to type, victims who were under fear RP remain as so.

A player is not showing proper fear if they run while on foot/bike or in an unpowered vehicle and a weapon is aimed at them at close range, or if they drive into an active shootout more than once without the intent of providing cover or fleeing with it.

A player has the option to react if they are in a powered vehicle, if they already have a weapon drawn facing their attacker, or if their attacker's view is obstructed by an object.

14) Deathmatching

Deathmatching is the act of attacking a player without proper IC motive and interaction. Prior interaction should include escalation such as a robbery or a report to the police.

Players on foot should only be attempted to be hit by a vehicle once with a valid motive.

Vehicles cannot be used as weapons in active shootouts unless where unavoidable.

Players must be able to explain their reason and provide proof of prior reasoning if requested.

If a player informs you that your VOIP isn't working, you must either fix your VOIP using appropriate commands (/vr 1) or use text to deliver your demands and RP.

15) General Criminal Activity Rules

Player Theft

  • Robberies should be conducted in a realistic manner with a reasonable in-character motive. Location, time of day, and realistic population should all be considered prior to a robbery. Players should not conduct minor robberies in situations with high risk. Players should consider the risk vs reward of the robbery and utilize secluded areas where necessary to avoid witnesses.

  • One cannot force victims to withdraw money, sell script assets, or give assets not present IC.

Kidnapping & Hostage Roleplay

  • Players are allowed to kidnap or take other players hostage within the context of reasonable escalation. Your escalation and reason behind the kidnapping should be able to be easily documented and explained if required by server staff. If your intention is to harm another player (e.g., injuring or killing them), then you need to refer to our DM rules.
